About CDM AfricaCDM Africa Climate Solutions (Pty) Ltd has offices in Stellenbosch and Johannesburg, providing advisory and project development services on CDM.CDM Africa was founded in 2003 and has since facilitated the development of a range of CDM projects. These include biogas and waste gas to energy, animal manure management, fuel switching (coal to biomass and coal to gas) and biofuels. Clients include Mittal Steel, Bateman Engineering, Lafarge, National Chemical Products, PetroSA and BioTherm Energy. CDM Africa makes use of a multi-disciplinary team to cover all legal, financial, technical and sustainable development aspects of CDM. The company has an agreement with the Energy Research Centre (ERC) at the University of Cape Town whereby ERC staff and expertise are available for CDM Africa assignments. CDM Africa is presently advising on carbon finance in several African countries, including Uganda and Kenya, some of which are in the advanced stage of development. PetroSA Biogas to Energy was the first CDM Africa project to reach finality, and was registered in October 2006. |
