Ciska Terblanche
B.Eng (Chemical), BSc (Forestry), MBA, MSc (Environmental Management)
Ciska recently became the MD of CDM Africa Climate Solutions. She was previously Development Director at BioTherm Energy, focusing on the development and implementation of cleaner energy technology and electricity generation projects in South Africa. Her experience in the thirteen years prior to joining BioTherm, includes work for multinational companies in the Mining and Pulp and Paper Industries, where she was mostly responsible for energy and environment management, CDM and climate change. Currently, she is a member of the UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism Methodology Panel. Ciska is on the Board of Directors of the South Africa CDM Industry Association. She was previously a Member of the South African Tradable Renewable Energy Trading Steering Committee responsible to develop a renewable energy trading system in South Africa. She is a registered Certified Energy manager.
Johan van den Berg
B Com LLM
Johan practised as an advocate for ten years before moving into renewable energy and climate change work in 2002. He was a Board Member of the Darling Wind Farm and is presently the CEO of the South African Wind Energy Association. He is an internationally accredited mediator, an Associate Fellow of the Society of Advanced Legal Studies in London and a registered trader of the South African Futures Exchange. He has done extensive work in CDM and was the founder of CDM Africa Climate Solutions.
Sibs von Solms

Sibs has spent more than 30 years in industry and has gained extensive knowledge and experience in systems such as Total Quality Management (TQM), ISO9001 Quality Management System, ISO14001 Environmental Management System, OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody, Multi-Criteria Decision-Making, Laboratory Management and Statistical Analysis. He has been involved in assisting with statistical analysis of data and providing statistical advice to process engineers and laboratory technicians over the past 30 years. Sibs has I facilitated a number of decision-making projects in industry and in the public sector using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) decision-making methodology.
Sibs is a part-time lecturer – Durban University of Technology, Business Studies Unit.
Piet Kotze
B.Engineering (Chemical), MSc (Energy Engineering)
Piet started in the petro-chemical industry, followed by seventeen years in the pulp and paper industry and two and a half years in energy project development and management. During his career he developed from process engineer to management positions as Power and Recovery manager, Chemical and Recaustisizing BU manager, Technical manager for one of the largest Power and Recovery business units in the world, Process Development Manager for one of the biggest pulp and paper mills in the world, Snr Technical Specialist for a major international Project Management and Consulting company and Project Developer for a South African IPP.

Mario is a IT specialist, focusing mainly in the establishment and management protocols of databases.
Alan Yates

Project management expert
Alan is a quantity surveyor and project management expert with thorough expertise in the preparation of tender documentation and contracts incidental to major civil engineering and building construction projects. He has accumulated experience in his capacity as a partner in a firm of consulting engineers, architects, and quantity surveyors for 20 years. Previous projects include pulp and paper mills, saw mills, offices and parking complexes, hotels, apartments, and sports stadia. Alan is a shareholder of Darlipp, the developer of the Darling Windfarm and is the incumbent project manager for the project.
